Yoga Photo Evidence: A Lesson Exploring Innovation and Performance

In my EDTC 6431 Learning with Technology course, I had the opportunity to develop and now share my individual project: Yoga Photo Evidence. Utilizing the ASSURE model (Figure 1), I designed a lesson that would allow for high school, yoga core students to demonstrate mastery of the physical education standards with creativity and innovation. The instructional activity of this lesson will require students to perform yoga poses and take photo evidence for original works of skill and understanding.

Over the course of my individual project development, I had the opportunity to implement this lesson in my yoga core classes. This allowed for me to make revisions in order to improve the instructional practice for future use. This is definitely a lesson that I see myself using if I have another yoga core class someday. Although it is not your typical physical education lesson, it does allow for students to better understand touch points once they observe their own performance of yoga poses in photos. Which will improve their performance in weekly yoga practices and overall understanding of yoga touch points. Overall, I believe that all of my learners have the potential to be very successful with this lesson.
